Middle East latest: Nearly 3,000 injured as pager blasts turn Beirut into ‘zombie city’

At least nine people were killed and thousands of others injured in a wave of page explosions across Lebanon yesterday. The militant group Hezbollah, whose members used the pagers to communicate, has blamed Israel for the attack.
